Anyone who owns a race car or a high-end street/collector vehicle will tell you that not all haulers are created equal. However, this gap in quality became even greater with the introduction of the Race Transporter 7 from Brian James Trailers.
While the Brian James Trailers The name is widely known and trusted in Europe, it is currently launching here in the US, and a nationwide dealer network is currently being established. The new Race Transporter 7 joins Brian James Trailers’ existing product range, which includes other models of closed car transporters as well as open car transporters, equipment, tipper, low loader, crop and cargo trailers.
The Race Transporter 7 was designed with the relatively simple goal of making loading, transporting and unloading cars as safe, efficient and effortless as possible, but the way this idea has been put into practice is nothing unusual.
Let’s start with the basics: getting the car in and out of the van. An industry first, the rear cargo door and tipping bed system are fully remote controlled. Operators can use either a wireless key fob or the integrated electronic control center in the front door to load and unload valuable cargo without manual intervention.
It’s also versatile: as the Race Transporter 7 is available in both double and three-axle models, it can carry a maximum payload of up to 2,235 kg (4,927 lb), meaning it can comfortably transport everything from light single-seaters to heavy touring cars.
Large dual side doors provide direct access to the vehicle’s interior, while front hatches allow the operator to attach straps without having to climb into the van – a feature praised by both racing teams and private owners.
A new composite floor system provides improved strength at a lower weight than traditional materials, translating into improved underfoot traction and an overall reduction in trailer weight for more efficient towing.
Full-length LED interior rides, side-mounted reversing lights, charging lights and stylish exterior lighting for day and night operation are standard, while the electric winch is fitted with a plastic cable instead of the more common steel cable. The Race Transporter 7s winch is operated by radio remote control and is lighter, safer and gentler on paint and body parts.
Short distance? No problem. The auxiliary ramps are specifically designed for vehicles with the lowest ground clearance, allowing for easy loading of GT and prototype vehicles.
And once the vehicle is safely loaded, the trailer’s power door eliminates the heavy lifting and manual handling common to traditional trailers.
It’s a feature-rich piece of kit – and that’s just standard equipment. No two race cars or collector vehicles are exactly the same, and with that in mind, the Race Transporter 7 features a long list of customization options including:
- Awning that can be extended on one or both sides for protection from the weather and as a workplace on the track.
- 360° visibility via a four-camera system connected to a wireless monitor in the cab ensures full visibility when maneuvering.
- An extended storage cabin with four 20 liter can holders, six removable containers and a triple grip aluminum panel.
- An upgraded heavy-duty electric winch with a 9,500-pound capacity, multi-slide mounting system and wireless remote control.
- A tire rack with an optional conversion kit for a fold-out workbench.
- Additional 220 mm (8.66 inches) of interior clearance for larger vehicles.
- Racing ramps with integrated storage space.
- Floor shelves with spring-loaded composite lids that provide ideal storage for tools and spare parts.
- A roof-mounted solar panel that charges the on-board battery for off-grid use.
- Mains power and USB charging with integrated outlets and charging points for power tools, laptops and mobile devices.
- An additional spare wheel made of either light metal or steel, conveniently mounted on the front and provided with a protective cover.
With these options, the Race Transporter 7 transforms into a fully equipped, customized mobile garage, giving teams and owners everything they need on the road or track.
