The basic price of the Genesis GV80 has dropped for 2026 with the return of a four-cylinder engine.
The turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine discontinued for 2024 has now returned. Unfortunately, the 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel, which was discontinued in 2024, has not returned as it is no longer in production.
The GV80 range now starts at $120,000 before on-road costs, a reduction of $10,000. The 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo variant that opened the range remains, but is $2,000 more expensive for 2026.
Other large luxury SUVs have seen prices rise by $1,500 to $1,700.

All GV80 SUVs carry the “Signature” trim name, except for the new flagship in black, which is only available with the 3.5T engine. The GV80 Coupe continues to be offered in its own unique trim level, with some optional features over the Signature SUV; It is also available in black.
The previously optional Rear Seat Entertainment package, which included two 14.7-inch touchscreens in the rear with remote control, USB-C port and HDMI port, has been discontinued.
However, you can still option the GV80 with six seats, second-row captain’s chairs, a fixed center console, and a wireless phone charger.
The new Black editions receive a range of exclusive dark-style features as well as a range of environmentally friendly materials, including leather upholstery and door panels colored with recycled soot from used tires.
Rounding out the MY26 updates is the first Genesis implementation of Digital Key 2.0, which expands the existing Genesis Connected Services suite in Australia.
Using Near Field Communication (NFC) and Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology, Digital Key allows owners to lock and unlock the doors or start the engine remotely via their compatible smartphone or smartwatch.
Digital Key 2.0 can be saved on one device and shared with up to 15 other devices. In addition, no cellular signal is required for operation and the function remains active even if the smartphone battery is empty.
The returning 2.5-tonne powertrain was canceled for 2024, although it accounted for around 25 percent of local GV80 sales. Genesis Australia’s CEO said the new GV80 coupe would “compensate” for this by accounting for 30 percent of the large luxury SUV’s total sales.
As of the end of October, Genesis has delivered 165 GV80 SUVs and 72 GV80 coupes. That means the coupe-like body style accounts for 30 percent of all GV80 sales.
On the surface, it looks like pricing for the BMW However, the base 2.5T rear-wheel drive configuration has been dropped for 2024, while the $10,500 Luxury Package has been made standard for 2025.
These updates follow a more extensive update last year that brought fresher styling, the new coupe derivative and a revised cabin with a 27-inch OLED display with integrated digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen.
The GV80 also has features like an 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, fingerprint recognition and a digital rearview mirror.
