Jeep brings electromobility off the beaten path.
For decades, the Jeep name has been synonymous with off-road driving and adventure, and models like the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator have risen above automotive glory to become cultural icons among their drivers and owners. With a passionate cult following and a reputation for off-road capability, Jeep vehicles are often suited and proven for off-road use, and as the brand’s push into electrification raises the question of how to combine off-road capability and electric mobility.
Existing electrified Jeep models include hybrids and a fully electric model in the form of the sporty, luxury Jeep Wagoneer S, the first fully electric model to wear the Jeep badge. But Jeep finally has an answer to the question of how they would develop a true all-electric off-roader: the all-new 2026 Jeep Recon.
Introducing the new SUV, the brand says the new 2026 Recon is the only “all-electric trail-rated SUV” and features classic Jeep styling combined with a powerful electric drivetrain and robust 4×4 capabilities. There’s an impressive 650hp available, along with 620lb/ft of torque, a range of 250 miles and 0-60 acceleration of just 3.6 seconds.
The new 2026 Jeep Recon’s Selec-Terrain traction management system offers five driving modes to suit a variety of weather and terrain conditions. Thanks to the powerful system, the Recon is able to master demanding maneuvers. Additionally, its design offers uncompromised Jeep driving fun with tool-free doors, gullwing doors and rear side windows for outdoor freedom, combined with the Recon’s electric powertrain and ruggedness.
Production of the new, all-electric 2026 Jeep Recon is scheduled to begin early next year, and with an MSRP of $65,000, the new Jeep Recon will initially launch in the U.S. and Canada markets, with global expansion soon to follow. With the benefits of every classic Jeep combined with electric freedom, the new 2026 Jeep Recon ushers in a new era for a treasured legacy.
