Porsche announces Formula E customer team and four works cars

Porsche brings even more intensity to an electrifying racing series.

Approaching its thirteenth season since the series’ inception in 2014, Formula E offers the excitement and intensity of some of the world’s premier open-wheel single-seater championships, coupled with the futurism and cutting-edge innovation of electric mobility. For this reason, more and more manufacturers are taking part in the series, and the reigning manufacturer world champion in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is Porsche. After its victory this year, Porsche goes into next season with an even stronger presence.

Porsche is fielding four vehicles in Formula E for the 2026/2027 season. In addition, a Porsche customer team will be competing in the 13th season. However, that is not the only thing that makes the competition more intense for the coming season. The total of six Porsche 99X Electric Formula E racing cars will be part of the GEN4 generation of Formula E cars, which have over 600 kW or around 805 hp available.

The increase in performance across the entire Formula E grid is the largest increase in performance for the cars to date, and with the enthusiasm for electric cars and electric mobility on the road and in the racing lineup, Porsche’s own range of series electric vehicles is also growing.

Starting with the Taycan, Porsche now has an electric version of its iconic Macan SUV in its lineup, and an electric version of the Cayenne also comes with incredible technology that has the potential to advance the entire electric vehicle industry. With a larger presence in electric racing and electric vehicles than ever before, Porsche is making a bold commitment to electrifying its entire brand.
