First customer deliveries of the Hardcore Ford Ranger Super Duty will begin earlier than planned, the Blue Oval has confirmed.
“The Ranger Super Duty is arriving ahead of schedule, with customer deliveries commencing later this year,” Ford Australia president and CEO Andrew Birkic said LinkedIn.
The more powerful Ranger was originally scheduled to launch in Australia in early 2026, having officially launched later this month.
This was announced in April 2025, before pricing for some variants was announced in July and full specifications were revealed in September.

Rather than just being a single variant, the Ranger Super Duty will be a whole family of more robust pickup and cab/chassis variants, with single cab, extended cab and crew cab body styles.
It will initially launch in cab/chassis configurations priced at $82,990 (before on-road costs).
All Ranger Super Duty models feature a 154kW/600Nm 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and come standard with front and rear limited-slip differentials and a best-in-class braked towing capacity of 4,500kg.
The toughest Ranger ever took its name from tougher versions of Ford’s full-size American F-Series trucks – and from the first non-F-Series Ford to be nicknamed “Super Duty.” It features a stronger chassis, larger fuel tank, wider tracks, more ground clearance and eight-bolt wheels/hubs.
Mr. Birkic explained that the Super Duty came about after he sat down with former Global Trucks division general manager Gary Boes six years ago to discuss the next-generation Ranger and possible weaknesses.
“A recurring theme was costly and time-consuming changes that were critical to the work being done,” he said.
“When we set out, the mission was clear. Our heavy-duty customers needed a mid-size truck that could carry almost two tonnes of payload, tow up to 4.5 tonnes and be incredibly off-road capable. There was nothing in the Australian market that could do all of this, backed by a full factory warranty.”
This is how the Ranger Super Duty was born.
None of Ford’s competitors have a direct competitor to the Ranger Super Duty. To get a factory-backed pickup truck with this towing capacity in Australia, you previously had to upgrade to a full-size US pickup.
