Oscar-winning actor Billy Bob Thornton has never hidden the fact that music has always been his first love. While millions know him from legendary performances Slingblade, Bad Santa Claus, Goliathand more recently CountrymanThornton has spent nearly two decades building a distinguished career with his rock band The Boxmasters.

More than a celebrity side project
Anyone expecting a Hollywood vanity band should think again.
Formed in 2007 by Billy Bob Thornton and Grammy-winning recording engineer and musician JD Andrew, The Boxmasters have built a loyal following by creating original music rooted in the sounds of the 1960s. Their style combines classic rock, British Invasion tunes, country rock, Americana and power pop to create a sound that is both nostalgic and refreshingly original.
The group has released more than 20 studio albums, proving to be one of the most prolific touring and recording bands in today’s roots rock scene. Oh, and PS: We first saw the band play at Stubbs in 2008!
