Renault is recalling 94 examples of its now discontinued Megane RS Performance hatch to fix a bug that could result in a drastic reduction in performance.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the engine air flow sensor may miscommunicate with the electronic control unit (ECU). This may result in the vehicle entering limp home mode, resulting in a loss of drive power while driving and/or the “STOP driving” warning lights may illuminate in the instrument cluster,” the company’s recall notice states.
“A loss of driving power while driving increases the risk of accidents and leads to serious injuries or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
