The Ford Transit Custom has filed for a nationwide product safety recall to correct incorrect information in the digital instruction manual that may result in drivers being unable to locate the child seat anchor point and other safety information.
“The vehicle’s digital instruction manual may contain incorrect information about the location of the child seat anchor point, airbags, seat belts, and emergency assistance information,” Ford’s recall notice states.
“As a result, the user may not be able to find the appropriate anchor point to attach the child seat, seat belts and other information.

“There is no safety risk and the defect has no impact on the performance of the vehicle.
“The affected vehicles do not comply with Australian Design Rule (ADR) 34/02 – Anchors and anchor fittings for child restraint systems and Australian Design Rule (ADR) 04/00 – Seat belts.”
- In total 2246 vehicles are affected, produced between 2024 and 2025

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Ford in writing and asked to contact their authorized Ford dealer to update the owner’s manual free of charge.
