A Forsaken’s Design ford The three-row electric SUV is hidden in plain sight on the LinkedIn profile of the company’s former electric vehicle (EV) head.
As reported by Ford AuthorityIt has been confirmed that an image of the white five-door SUV prototype has been the banner image on Mr Field’s LinkedIn page for the past 12 months The drive.
“It is the three-row SUV that we will discontinue in 2024,” a Ford spokesman confirmed The drive.
“It is now a research vehicle that is shaping our next generation of electric vehicles. You will see its significant impact on our next generation electric vehicles.”

Ford announced a new strategy last week that includes a revised corporate structure and new product plans as the U.S. automaker seeks a recovery after multibillion-dollar losses related to electric vehicles.
News of the restructure included Mr Field stepping down from his role as chief EV, digital and design officer. The former Tesla manager was poached by Apple in 2021 to lead Ford’s electric mobility offensive.
Mr Field’s LinkedIn profile featured the image of the canceled SUV, which he had previously described as a “personal bullet train”. Ford Authorityand was designed to sit above the Ford Mustang Mach-E in its lineup.
“It’s beautiful and unlike anything before in this segment. It will be affordable. It will be a longer, sleeker, quieter vehicle with amazing size and interior features,” Mr Field previously said.
“We designed the battery and charging so that you can not only cover these distances on the highway, but also stop in less than 10 minutes and achieve a range of 150 miles (241 km).”
However, the sleek Doug Field-era “bullet train” will not be part of the latest product strategy, as the unnamed electric SUV will be officially discontinued in August 2024.
In early 2025, Ford CEO Jim Farley told the media that large electric SUVs were not attractive to private buyers.
A description of the canceled SUV received from The drive reportedly included an electric range of up to 563 km or an “extended range” range of up to 885 km – suggesting that a range extender version with a petrol engine was also in development.
Mr Farley said the automaker would move to range-extender hybrid powertrains instead of pure electric vehicles, at least for larger vehicles, with the Ford F-150 Lightning, previously an electric vehicle, expected to be one of the first models expected to adopt the technology.
The Oakville plant in Ontario, Canada, where the discontinued electric SUV was supposed to be built, has instead been converted to produce Ford F-Series Super Duty pickups.
