The Leapmotor C10 AWD Sports+ is an exclusive but affordable rival to the Model Y Performance

The first special edition of the Jump motor C10 A midsize electric SUV may look like a simple sticker package, but it packs a significant boost in performance – making it a value-priced competitor to the Tesla Model Y Performance.

Offered exclusively as an electric vehicle – and not with the available EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) powertrain – only 50 of them will be available The C10 AWD Sports+ Special Edition is priced in Australia $53,888 before on-road costs.

That’s below the Model Y Performance, which was priced at $89,400 before on-road launch, and is exactly $4,000 above the rear-wheel-drive C10 EV Design.

To account for the extra effort, the Special Edition has a second engine that enables “intelligent” all-wheel drive (AWD), with outputs of 440kW and 760Nm – up from 160kW and 320Nm in the standard model.

It also claims a 0-100 km/h time of 4.0 seconds, a significant 3.5 second improvement over the C10 Design, although still 0.5 second slower than the $35,512 more expensive Model Y Performance

The extra power is combined with a larger 81.9kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, enabling a WLTP range of 437km, compared to 420km for the rear-drive C10 and its 69.9kWh battery.

The move to an 800V electric architecture enables faster charging, with a 30 to 80 percent charge occurring in just 22 minutes, compared to 30 minutes for the standard version.

The flagship variant features two exclusive exterior paint finishes: Pearl White with black Sports+ stickers or Metallic Black with gray Sports+ graphics.
