Gmail is finally closing a major gap in its Help Me Schedule tool

Google is expanding its Help Me Schedule feature to group meetings in Gmail, closing the only glaring gap that has existed since its release in October 2025.

Help Me Schedule (an AI-powered feature) was launched in October 2025 and only helped in scheduling meetings between two people. Which isn’t entirely useful if you’ve ever tried to coordinate a team meeting via email.

What has actually changed?

However, with the update, the feature can now be used to organize meetings with multiple guests directly from the Gmail compose window.

Google’s Gemini AI model – if it has access to your email – detects when you try to schedule a meeting, displays a scheduling button in the toolbar, and suggests an ideal time slot based on the recipient’s availability (taking into account their work hours and other potential factors).

The guest list, as you’ve guessed by now, is automatically pulled from the email thread, but you can still edit it as needed. Once the email recipient uses an available time slot, an email invitation is sent to all guests, including external attendees (if any).

Who will receive the new Help Me Schedule and when?

Gmail’s new Help Me Schedule feature is available on Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise plans, and Google AI Pro Education and Frontline Plus users. The rollout for the planned release domains begins on March 16, 2026.

Unfortunately, the feature is not available for free Gmail users, neither in the original nor in the updated version. In any case, it’s a small but really useful update for eligible users.

It may not make headlines at a keynote event, but it will certainly help thousands of professionals plan group meetings, a process that previously involved sending emails and sending out manual invitations.
