The Tesla Model 3 The SUV sold in Australia and New Zealand will see a number of changes just weeks after announcing a series of upgrades to the brand’s best-selling Model Y SUV.
The Model 3 upgrades were spotted by a user on social media platform “X” (formerly Twitter) and suggest the changes will apply to vehicles sold in Australia and Europe.
Accordingly No Tesla appAccording to the social media leak, a new 16.0-inch higher resolution touchscreen, already offered here on the Model Y, has been integrated into the Model 3 to replace the current 15.4-inch display.
The move increases the total screen area from 106.59 square inches to 109.39 square inches.

It will be part of a “premium” interior, with the previous light gray headliner replaced by a black headliner.
Car scoops also reports that headlight technology will be improved with the Model 3’s Matrix LED headlights introducing a two-stage reflective dimming feature, allowing them to dim in two separate stages and provide better visibility by illuminating a greater portion of the road and surrounding area for longer.
The changes, says Car scoopsare software-based, meaning existing Model 3 owners may be able to add the upgrades via an over-the-air (OTA) update.

In February 2026, Tesla began rolling out the Grok chatbot to Australian vehicles for the first time, with a beta version available for vehicles running HW3 and software version 2025.44.25 or later.
The controversial chatbot developed by Mr. Musk’s xAI can be used for navigation commands, but is not yet capable of executing voice commands for media or climate controls, among other things.
The launch of Apple CarPlay has reportedly been delayed due to the slow rollout of the smartphone maker’s latest operating system, iOS 26, after a bug was discovered affecting Tesla’s Full Self-Driving System (FSD).
Tesla launched FSD (Supervised) in Australia in September 2025, with the feature following Tesla’s move in the United States to move from a one-off purchase price to an ongoing subscription service.
With a total of 1,585,279 deliveries, the Model 3 and Model Y accounted for 97 percent of the brand’s global sales in 2025.
The Model Y was the world’s best-selling electric vehicle (EV) last year and also took the top spot in Australia, with the BYD Sealion 7 pushing the Model 3 to third place overall, ahead of the Kia EV5 and Geely EX5.
