Ford Ranger and Everest recalled

Ford Australia remembers the safe year 2022 ranger And Everest Vehicles encounter a problem that could result in a sudden power outage.

“If the battery level drops below a critical threshold, a software issue may cause the transmission to shift into Park under certain circumstances when the vehicle is traveling at speeds below 4 mph,” the company’s recall notice said.

“This can result in a sudden stop without the rear brake lights illuminating as intended.

“Sudden stopping while driving at low speeds and the rear brake lights do not illuminate as intended could increase the potential risk of an accident and result in injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

Ford is reminding owners that this recall work must be performed even if work was performed as part of the previous August 2023 recall, which affected 4,841 Ranger and Everest vehicles manufactured between 2021 and 2023.
