The special edition 2026 Isuzu MU-X Tour Mate has been confirmed for Australian showrooms following the launch of the Tour Mate package for the corresponding Isuzu D-Max ute last year.
Based on the highly specified LS-T 4×4 version of the popular large off-road SUV range, the MU-X Tour Mate adds touring and towing equipment to the 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel model for $79,990 drive-away, $6,550 more than the LST’s regular price before on-road costs.
That makes it $5,000 more expensive than the mid-size Ford Everest Sport, which has a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine, and slightly more expensive than the entry-level Toyota Prado GX, whose total price is $78,500.

Isuzu Ute Australia says the additional equipment is worth $9,000 retail, and when combined with the drive-away pricing, this represents a saving of $7,600 compared to an LS-T with the same options.
Additional equipment is highlighted by a matt black steel bull bar with integrated parking sensors and fog lights, as well as a towbar kit with a 50mm towbar, 12-pin flat wiring harness and an electronic brake controller.
A rear cargo area liner, front and rear weather guards, rubber floor mats and a cell phone charging option were also added.
The 25.5MY MU-X Tour Mate is now available in seven exterior finishes, including Mercury Silver, Moonstone White Pearl, Mineral White, Obsidian Grey, Magnetic Red, Cobalt Blue and Basalt Black.
The Tour Mate features the LS-T 4×4 transmission including 20-inch alloy wheels, a rear differential lock and an off-road mode. There are no changes to the 140kW/450Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel and six-speed automatic, which continue to offer a braked towing capacity of 3500kg.
Inside, the cabin features heated front seats with leather upholstery, a 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with 360-degree surround-view monitor, integrated navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and eight-speaker audio.
The MU-X continues to be Australia’s third most popular large SUV after the Prado and Everest. In 2024, Isuzu introduced the D-Max Tour Mate crew cab in two model levels: the LS-U Tour Mate priced from $69,990 on-road and the D-Max LS-U+ starting at $72,990 on-road.
