Your Ultrahuman Smart Ring now detects that a migraine is coming before you do

Ultrahuman just teamed up with Click Therapeutics to launch the Migraine PowerPlug, and honestly, this seems like a significant shift for smart wearables. This is a new software feature for the Ultrahuman Ring Air that borrows technology from Click’s FDA-cleared digital migraine treatment (CT-132) to bring clinical-grade migraine management to a consumer device.

If you’ve ever struggled with migraines, you know how frustrating it is trying to figure out what triggered them. Was it the bad sleep? The stress? That extra cup of coffee?

The Migraine PowerPlug attempts to solve this problem by analyzing your biometric data – such as sleep quality, heart rate variability (HRV), stress levels and exercise – to detect patterns you may miss. Instead of logging a migraine after it occurs, the ring looks for the physiological warning signs that typically precede an attack.

If a risky combination of factors is detected (e.g. your recovery is low and your stress is increasing), it sends you an “alert” along with real-time behavioral advice. This could be a nudge to drink fluids, adjust your sleep schedule, or take a specific break—small adjustments intended to stop the migraine or at least reduce its severity.

Most “health” features on smartwatches are pretty generic

They tell you to get up or breathe, but they don’t know you. This partnership is unique because it brings together raw data from the ring with actual medical logic. Click Therapeutics is not just a wellness app developer; They are building regulated digital treatments. By embedding their FDA-approved algorithms into the Ultrahuman app, they effectively turn a piece of jewelry into a medical monitoring tool.

This also illustrates what Ultrahuman does differently compared to Oura or Samsung. Instead of bloating the main app with features that 90% of users don’t use, they use a “PowerPlug” store.

Think of it like an app store for your metabolism

You can install the Respiratory PowerPlug (which uses your phone to listen for snoring/coughing) or this Migraine PowerPlug if you need them, but keep the experience clean if you don’t. It is a modular approach that respects the user’s intelligence.

The feature will launch in the US, UK and EU in early 2026. Although the price is not yet confirmed, given the medical technology, it is safe to assume that this will be a paid add-on (similar to other premium PowerPlugs).

This is the future for the wearable industry. We’re finally moving beyond the “10,000 steps” to devices that actually help treat chronic conditions in real time. For migraine sufferers, this little extra warning could change everything.
