The Let’s EV4 Hitting local showrooms later this month, priced from $49,990 (excluding on-road costs).
The base price of the mid-sized electric sedan is therefore between the entry-level BYD Seal Dynamic ($46,990 without on-road costs) and the Tesla Model 3 RWD ($54,900 plus on-road costs).
Unlike these rivals, the EV4 is only available with front-wheel drive. However, Kia offers it with either two batteries and three equipment variants.
With the larger of the two nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) batteries, it offers a range of up to 612 km.

The EV4 costs about $1,300 more than the equivalent EV3 small SUV and offers more range thanks to its more aerodynamic sedan body style.
The Australian EV4 sedans come from South Korea. An EV4 hatch is being manufactured in Slovakia for the European market, but it has yet to be confirmed for our market. This includes the upcoming GT performance flagship, which was unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show this month.
The 4730 mm long and 1860 mm wide EV4 sedan is roughly the same size as the K4 sedan, which is currently only offered with a combustion engine. It’s also 10mm longer than the Tesla Model 3, while being 73mm narrower with a 55mm shorter wheelbase.

Drives and efficiency
All Kia EV4s feature a single, front-mounted electric motor and a 400V electrical system.
The EV4 shares its E-GMP platform with the EV3 and features a MacPherson strut front axle and a multi-link rear suspension.
The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging function is standard on all models and enables the powering of small devices. However, the Air only has an internal socket, while the Earth and the GT-Line also have an external adapter.
There’s also regenerative braking, which can be controlled via steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and a one-pedal driving mode.
The Long Range variants are upgraded from 16-inch ventilated front brake discs to 17-inch brake discs.
