Sales and delivery of the Deepal E07 Multitruck are on hold in Australia as the Chinese car brand addresses an unspecified compliance issue.
“Deepal Australia has temporarily suspended sales and deliveries of the MY25 E07 to complete necessary compliance work. We are contacting affected customers directly and will provide updates as this work progresses,” a company spokesperson said in a statement.
“As this is not a safety-related matter, current owners can continue to drive their vehicles as usual according to the owner’s manual.”

Deepal would not confirm what the compliance issue was and declined to confirm whether vehicles already delivered were subject to a recall.
It is unclear whether this may be an issue with the rear child seat anchor points, an Australian Design Rules (ADR) compliance issue that has also affected electric models such as the BYD Atto 3 and the locally updated Tesla Model 3.
Neither model had an accessible rear center top tether anchor point, resulting in deliveries being paused while the issue was resolved.
In the latest version of its E07 brochure (V1.1), Deepal states that there are two top tether anchor points and two ISOFIX child seat anchor points.
A previous brochure (V1) stated that it has three child seat anchor points and two ISOFIX points.
According to ADR 34/03, all MA class vehicles require a top tether anchor point for all second row seats that have an adult seat belt.
Exceptions apply in accordance with the regulations for split individual seats or those where a child restraint system would block access to a third row of seats in which a child seat anchor point is located.
The Deepal E07 is an MA class vehicle, a category that includes most passenger cars and many SUVs, and would therefore require three top tether anchor points as per regulations.
This particular Australian regulation led to Honda famously launching the second-generation HR-V here as a four-seater, although the small SUV seats five in all other markets.
Deliveries of the E07 began in September 2025 and so far a total of 258 examples of the distinctive electric SUV have reached Australian customers.
The E07 is an unusual chimera of a small car and an SUV, with a rear cargo area that can be exposed to the elements thanks to a sliding glass roof. The separation between the loading space and the cabin can also be eliminated.
It is Deepal’s second model in Australia, following the S07 mid-size electric SUV, which the brand debuted in late 2024. The two models will be joined this year by the S05, while Mazda will introduce its new Deepal-based mid-sized electric sedan 6e this year.
