Maren Morris opened the ACL Music Festival with an intimate performance at The Quill Room in Austin. On Thursday night, the Grammy winner performed a five-song set to about 100 people at the Proper Hotel.

It’s been a long time since we last attended a pop-up that felt like a real pop-up. With such a small group of music lovers, it felt like we were traveling back in time to old Austin. After all, such events used to happen again and again in the ATX.
Morris began the set with a performance of her latest song, “Lemonade.” She then returned to her second album with “Girl,” followed by 2025’s “Too Good.” She closed the epic evening with her two biggest hits: “My Church” and “The Bones.”

“I grew up going to the ACL – I’m from Arlington, Texas. I grew up going there with my friends and I remember seeing so many bands at the ACL back then. And then we played it about nine years ago. So it’s been way too long and I’m really looking forward to the show tomorrow.” – Maren Morris
