The Progress So Far in the Bedroom (A Look at the Entire Room)

I’m still working on the curtains for the bedroom. I was hoping to have them finished by the end of the week so I could show you the room with the curtains on Friday. But yesterday I realized that it wouldn’t matter if I finished them today because somehow I miscalculated the number of curtain rings I needed for both the curtains and the curtains. I was four boxes short! (Math is hard for me. ) I ordered these extra curtain rings yesterday but they won’t be here until Friday. So when I’m done with the curtains (hopefully today), I’ll move on to the next project and have to show you all the finished and installed curtains early next week.

In the meantime, I cleaned up the room yesterday and was very excited to see the progress so far. That’s why I thought I’d take a quick look at the room so far. I’m well past the halfway point of this project and it’s really starting to come together.

Here’s a quick tour of the room. Remember that the lamps will receive a major makeover very soon with a new color and new lampshades…

Replacing the window on this wall with a door is one of my favorite things to do. Not only do I love the practicality of having a door in our bedroom in case of an emergency, but also the way it looks.

I had planned on giving the small side table a wood finish, but yesterday someone suggested painting it gold. I could do this instead. And the artwork that was supposed to arrive yesterday wasn’t delivered. *Sigh* Delivery has been rescheduled for today.

I still need to cover the access to the attic. I keep putting this off because it’s not a fun project. But of course it has to be done.

Of course it will look completely different when I have the rest of the fabrics and home textiles here. The headboard alone will make a huge difference. And the curtains will really add some depth and texture to the windows and doors. But overall, I’m so excited to see how the space has developed so far. It’s completely different than how it started!

That’s quite a difference! It took a lot of work to get from there to the current space and there is still work to be done. But I think I’m well on my way to creating a very nice, comfortable, warm and inviting bedroom for us.
