Two pros from the host city Jaipur made it to the qualification, including Prakhar Asawa (two under 138) and Hemendra Choudhary (one under 139). Prakhar and Hemendra tied for 23rd and 34th place respectively.
The cut was an even par 140, with 54 pros making it to the money rounds.
Kushal Singh continued his superb performance of 64 in the first round with another excellent performance of 63 on the second day. The 31-year-old Kushal, who has achieved a top-10, a top-20 and a top-30 finish in his last three PGTI events, has been steadily rising in the PGTI rankings. He is currently ranked 61st in the PGTI Order of Merit.
Kushal, who took a three-year break from golf before 2024 to look after his family business, got off to a slow start on the second day as he made five pars followed by a bogey on the sixth hole. Kushal then bounced back with eight birdies between the seventh and the 18th, in which he hit some outstanding drives as well as some quality highs and lows.
Kushal said, “I have been playing well since the beginning of the year when I finished in the top 10 at the PGTI Qualifying School. However, my season really took off after my second place at the NexGen event in Bhubaneswar. I was pretty consistent and got good results from then on.”
Yuvraj Sandhu got back into contention after his round of 63 with a chip-in and three long conversions.
Veer Ahlawat was brilliant off the tees, sinking several putts from 10 to 15 feet, including one for an eagle, during his stunning round of 62.
