Polestar introduces Google Gemini in cars

Polestar integrates Google’s most advanced technology into its cars.

Polestar is a brand that aims to represent the pinnacle of electric mobility. Polestar’s range of electric luxury cars is growing rapidly and includes SUVs, grand tourers and even a roadster on the horizon. In this venture, Google has been a long-standing partner of Polestar on its in-car technology, and one of the most recent chapters of this partnership was the introduction of AI-powered Google Maps live lane guidance for the Polestar 4. Now Polestar will introduce Google’s Gemini in all of its models.

An upgrade from Google Assistant, Gemini is an AI voice assistant that allows users to have more natural conversations, eliminating the need for specific commands and making the system more intuitive and easy to use. “Hey Google, let’s talk,” is the simple request that begins a conversation with the system. Users can then brainstorm out loud and even ask questions that follow on from the previous questions.

In a Google update for all Polestar vehicles, Gemini is set to replace the existing Google Assistant. An early demonstration of the technology is scheduled to be shown at Slush in Helsinki, Finland, November 19-20, and Polestar drivers will be able to experience Gemini in their cars as early as 2026, starting with English language users in the United States. With some of the most advanced technologies Google currently offers, Polestar’s electric luxury cars are more futuristic than ever.
