Buddy Garrity, aka Brad Leland, makes it clear he’s not a fan University Blues. The actor, best known for his role in Friday Night Lightsrecently took ours Texas This or That Quiz and when it came to comparing FNL And University Blueshe had a bold statement to make.

On request University Blues or Friday Night LightsLeland told Spill the ATX in no uncertain terms that he does NOT like the James Van Der Beek/Jon Voigt film.
“I can’t stand Varsity Blues,” he said. “Because it represents nothing.”
He further explained that it was supposed to be a parody, but that was not the case. “People in the country think, ‘Oh, this is Texas high school football. All the boys are drunk and all the girls are not small and all the coaches are assholes,'” Leland explained.
Regarding the Friday Night Lights He says that even though the TV series has been finished for 15 years, it continues to be watched by people all over the world. “And the show is not about Texas high school football,” he explains. “It’s about everyone, about growing up in the community and being part of a team. And about having a girlfriend and a boyfriend and a teacher and a coach and a problem and a love. It’s so universal.”
