Sanju Samson and Jasprit Bumrah headline the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament

Ahmedabad: Four members of the victorious Indian team have been named in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament.

Player of the Tournament Sanju Samson leads the winning quartet after the opener scored 321 runs from just five innings. Samson started the tournament outside the Indian XI but shone with man-of-the-match performances against the West Indies and England before scoring the highest individual score in a men’s T20 World Cup final with 89 against New Zealand on Sunday.

He will be joined by teammates Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah as India’s impressive win is recognized on home soil.

Kishan scored 317 runs – the fourth most of any player – and his performances at the top of the order consolidated India’s batting performances with a massive strike rate of 193.29.

He made a masterful 77 as an opener against Pakistan before establishing himself at number three with important hits against England and New Zealand, including a half-century in the final.

Pandya is the third Indian batsman, the all-rounder is known for his use with bat and ball. Pandya scored two half-centuries with the bat and produced devastating spells when it mattered most, including 52 off 28 against Namibia, while he also took nine wickets in total.

Bumrah is the fourth Indian player in the team. The player of the match was awarded in the final for his excellent bowling performances. Bumrah finished the tournament as the joint leading wicket-taker with 14 from eight games. He finished the final at odds of four for 15 and recorded an economy of 6.21 throughout the tournament.

Also at the top of the rankings is Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan, who finished as the tournament’s top run-scorer with a total of 383. The average was 76.60 and was led by two centuries against Sri Lanka and Namibia.

Aiden Markram is one of two South Africans in the team. The Proteas captain scored 286 – including three half-centuries – as his team reached the semi-finals.

Compatriot Lungi Ngidi is also there as he took 12 wickets at an average of 15.58. He took four wickets against Canada and three against Afghanistan and the West Indies, but also impressed with a miserable spell against India that yielded just 15 runs from four overs.

England’s Will Jacks slotted into midfield thanks to his brilliant all-rounder performances as his side reached the last four. Jacks regularly produced crucial performances to lead England home, including a decisive unbeaten 32 from 18 balls and two from 23 against New Zealand, which earned him one of four player-of-the-match awards. Teammate Adil Rashid joined him after the spinner took 13 wickets at 2.15 p.m.

West Indies’ Jason Holder earned his place in the side thanks to strong performances with both bat and ball. Holder took three wickets against Scotland and four against Nepal before appearing with the bat in the Super Eights.

Rounding out the team is Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani, who was instrumental in his side’s impressive performances in the group stages. Muzarabani took four for 17 as Zimbabwe beat Australia and finished the group stage with nine wickets.

The team’s 12th player is Shadley van Schalkwyk, who took 13 wickets for the USA at a rate of just 6.84 and an economy of 6.80.
