According to Simply Sports Cars, the Bathurst Edition is based on the Emira Turbo, which uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine from Mercedes-AMG mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive.
In standard tune, the Emira Turbo produces 268kW of power and 430Nm of torque, while the Turbo SE increases this to 298kW and 480Nm of torque.
Lotus claims the Turbo SE can complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.0 seconds and reach 290 km/h. Simply Sports Cars has not released any acceleration or top speed figures for the Bathurst Edition.
For the Bathurst Edition, Simply Sports Cars says it has retuned the AMG M139 engine to produce “more than 500 hp (375 kW)” and a “significant” increase in torque, but has not released a torque figure. This is a huge performance increase and, as far as we can tell, the highest state of tune ever offered for the AMG engine from a ‘factory’ offering.
According to the company, the package also includes a number of changes aimed at track use:
- Three-way adjustable dampers, revised wheel alignment and a lower track width
- Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires as standard, optional Yokohama A052 tires
- AP Racing four-piston brake calipers front and rear with two-piece ventilated brake discs
According to Simply Sports Cars, the Emira Turbo Bathurst Edition retains the Emira’s double wishbone suspension setup and adds a carbon fiber aero kit that includes an Emira GT4-style front splitter and rear wing. The wing end plates are labeled “Turbo Emira” in the images provided.
Exterior changes also include Bathurst Edition decals and a GT4-inspired livery, while the interior features an individually numbered build plate. Buyers can also choose their wheel color.
The Bathurst Edition was launched last week at Simply Sports Cars’ Bathurst Lotus Only Track Day at Mount Panorama, where the car was on display and demonstration laps were completed. The company has been bringing Lotus models to events at Bathurst since 2005 and has previously run Lotus Exige entries in the Bathurst 12 Hour.
Every Buyers of the Bathurst Edition will also receive free entry to the next Lotus Bathurst Track Day, scheduled for 2027, according to Simply Sports Cars.
The Emira is in the same market segment as mid-engine sports coupes like the Porsche Cayman. Lotus has also offered the Emira with a Toyota-sourced 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine producing 298kW.
In Australia, Emira sales were 138 units in 2024 and 60 in 2025, a decline of 56.5 percent. Simply Sports Cars says 14 build slots of the The Bathurst Edition remains, the first car has already been sold.
