Price and specifications of the Mazda 6e 2026

Mazda Australia once again has both a mid-size car and an electric vehicle on offer.

After the abolition of the small electric SUV MX-30 in 2023 and the long-standing Mazda 6 in 2025, it is now set to come onto the market Mazda 6e.

Pre-orders are open now ahead of first customer deliveries in July 2026.

Designed and built by the Changan Mazda joint venture in China, this five-door liftback is slightly larger than the old Mazda 6 sedan.

The base GT is $4,910 less than the entry-level Tesla Model 3 Premium RWD and is just $800 more expensive than the old turbocharged four-cylinder Mazda 6 GT. Likewise, the flagship Atenza only costs a few hundred dollars more than the old G35 Atenza.

The first 300 customers to pre-order a Mazda 6e GT will receive a free upgrade to the top Atenza trim.

The Mazda 6e is the Japanese brand’s first model in Australia to feature a Bluetooth key, and its Mazda 6e app allows remote adjustment of air conditioning, windows and locks, among other features.
