Honey Baisoya records a three-shot triumph at the 2026 DP World Players Championship, ending a five-year title drought

New Delhi: Honey Baisoya ended the week in style with a five-under 65 score on the final day to secure a three-shot triumph at the INR 1.5 crore DP World Players Championship 2026 held at the Qutab Golf Course in New Delhi.

Honey Baisoya (63-65-64-65), who led by five shots overnight, took the lead with six birdies against a single bogey in the fourth round, giving him a total of 23-under 257 for the week and ending his five-year wait for a title. It was the 29-year-old Honey’s eighth professional victory. Baisoya picked up the winner’s check worth INR 22,50,000 and moved from third to first place in the DP World PGTI Order of Merit 2026.

Khsitij Naveed Kaul (62-71-65-62), tied for third overnight and six shots from the lead, shot a 62 for the second time this week, the lowest score of the final day, moving up one spot and finishing second at 20-under 260.

Veer Ahlawat (65-67-66-65) finished in third place at 17-under 263 after his fourth round of 65.

PGTI would like to thank its title partner DP World and its tour partners Amul, IndusInd Bank, Victorious Choice, Campa, Amrutanjan Electro Plus, Golf Plus Monthly and Golf Design India for their support in expanding the tour.

Honey Baisoya, the odds-on favorite to win the title at the start of the day, made steady progress early in the round with five birdies on the front nine at the expense of a single bogey. Honey reconsidered his strategy on the seventh tee and decided to rely more on driver as he wanted to play more aggressively. As a result, he collected birdies on the seventh, eighth and ninth spots.

Baisoya then maintained his lead, which was five shots at a time, on the back nine while making pars through the 17th. Honey secured the title with an outstanding bunker shot on the 18th that landed just two feet from the mark and led to his sixth and final birdie of the day.

Honey said: “I’m happy to be back in the winner’s circle after such a long time. I had a great day on the course today. Even though I had a five-shot lead overnight, I knew I had to play really well in the last round as Veer and Kshitij, who were chasing me, are capable of very low scores on their day and can never be counted out.”

“Last week I had also played well in Chhattisgarh where I came third. So I knew that if I kept my nerves under control I had a good chance of winning this week. I would like to thank my friends and fellow pros Chikkarangappa, Kushal Singh and Arjun Sharma for all their support. Chikkarangappa gave me some valuable putting advice regarding my putting grip which put me on the right path. A big thank you to Chikka. I would like to thank my Thanks to father Mr. Ravinder and my uncle Mr. Gast Ram for all their support and guidance.

“Today the strategy was to play at least three under on the front nine, which I thought would give me a good cushion on the back nine. I did even better with four under on the front nine. After that, all I had to do was save pars on the back nine. The plan to attack with driver from the seventh hole paid off as it produced three birdies in a row and secured me the win.”
Second place finisher Kshitij Naveed Kaul had an incredible flawless final round of 62. Khshitij, who holds the course record of 60, made eight birdies on the day. He finished the week with a great birdie on the last four holes. Kshitij received the runner-up check of INR 15 lakh and moved up from fourth to third place in the DP World PGTI Order of Merit.
