I’m looking for a new robot vacuum cleaner, so I would appreciate your recommendations if you have a really reliable robot that you like. I’ve had two so far. Since it was just a vacuum cleaner, it didn’t have a mopping function for my hardwood floors. Although I really liked the basic Eufy and it did a great job of keeping dog hair under control, I ended up choosing a self-draining vacuum so I didn’t have to manually empty it every day.
After using the Eufy for about a year and a half (I guess), I finally bought this robot vacuum from Honiture, which has a mopping function and a self-emptying function.
It worked great for about a year, but when I had to purchase new catch bags (and had a lot of trouble finding the right bags for this model), the self-emptying feature stopped working. No matter how many times I removed and reattached the bags, the self-emptying feature simply wouldn’t work.
I didn’t use it for a while during the bedroom suite project because there was just too much stuff in the way. So about two weeks ago I took it out again to use again. It actually worked for the first few days! Everything worked. It vacuumed all the floors and then emptied itself, just like it’s supposed to. But that only lasted about four days. And then, on about the fifth day, it started on schedule, made about four passes right in that area behind the loungers in the breakfast room, said it was done cleaning, then went back to base and emptied itself.
I’ve tried everything possible to fix the problem. I tried remapping but the remapping doesn’t go further than this area. I tried resetting to factory settings but that didn’t fix anything either.
I’ve given up and want to buy a new one. When I started looking, I had decided that this time I would buy one with a brand name I know, like Shark. This time I decided to buy one with a brand name that I actually know, like Shark or iRobot. The problem is that these don’t have the highest ratings. All of the highest rated are brands I’ve never heard of, like Bagotte and MAMNV. While these have very high reviews (literally five-star reviews), they don’t have very many reviews compared to the other brands that have tens of thousands of reviews with lower overall ratings. And I’m not keen on the idea of ​​buying a brand that I don’t know or that hasn’t been around for a long time because I’m afraid that parts (e.g. needed supplies) will be unavailable or hard to find when it comes time to buy them. This is exactly the problem I encountered with my Honiture vacuum cleaner.
So I would like to hear your suggestions. I’m looking for a robot vacuum that empties itself and has an easy-to-use app with map and spot cleaning functionality if I just want to vacuum one room. It would be nice if it had a mopping function for my hardwood floors, but I would also like to buy one that doesn’t have that function as long as it vacuums really well.
