The four-cylinder Ford Mustang EcoBoost finally gets some love and attention with the new one RTR Package developed by Blue Oval and world drift champion Vaughn Gittin Jr.
The Mustang RTR is not technically a new model in the range, but rather a package that is optional in the US on high-spec versions of the base EcoBoost and mid- and high-spec versions of the EcoBoost Premium.
It borrows parts from higher up the Mustang food chain, including the GT’s front bumper, steering rack and 600W fan.

Items stolen from the GT Performance Pack include the rear spoiler and Brembo brakes with 389mm discs and six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear.
Meanwhile, the Dark Horse contributes its front and rear anti-roll bars, adjustable strut mounts and stiffer rear subframe, all designed to make drifting easier for beginners.
The RTR isn’t just an option, however, as it has unique features like the illuminated grille noses and the unique exterior graphics package. Eye-catching Hyper Lime is applied to the seat belts, handbrake mechanism and stitching throughout the interior.
Buyers can also choose to equip their cars with Hyper Lime brake calipers and exterior graphics. These stand in stark contrast to the standard black wheels, emblems and mirror caps.
The RTR’s 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine does the same 235kW And 475 Nm Like other EcoBoost models, it has an anti-lag system that keeps the turbo moving even when the driver lifts off the accelerator.
Unfortunately, there is no manual option, with only a 10-speed automatic transmission being offered. Ford claims it meets “the vast majority of customer demand, even in this enthusiast-focused segment.”
The RTR rides on 19-inch alloy wheels, while MagneRide adaptive suspension is available as an option.
Australian and international availability is yet to be confirmed. The RTR package will be available to US buyers in the second quarter of 2026.
Although US pricing has not yet been announced, dealers have said so Automotive News Pricing is around US$40,000 (AUD$61,400), which puts it between the base EcoBoost at US$32,320 and the entry-level V8 GT at US$46,560.
