You may know Round Top, Texas for its Ultra famous antiques fair. But did you know that Round Top also hosts a film festival? The unique festival returns from November 6th to 9th and some exciting things are happening for its second year!
What you need to know about the Round Top Film Festival
Created by mother-daughter duo Shanna Schanen and Skylar Schanen, the event celebrates the spirit of Texas film, including the Maverick Stunt Award. This prestigious award, now held annually, honors outstanding professionals in the stunt industry whose innovative contributions are redefining the craft of action storytelling.
This year’s Maverick Stunt Award goes to Chris O’Hara. With over 25 years of experience, he has quietly shaped action cinema as a stunt designer and second unit director, bringing precision and passion to every project. He has worked on many films you know including The Fall Guy, Baby Driver, Jurassic World, The Avengers, Fight Club and more. He has doubled an event for stars like Matt Damon The Bourne Supremacy and Bradley Cooper in the Hangover Series.
That’s not all that happens at this all-Texan festival.
The final film is Jay Kelly with George Clooney, Adam Sandler, Laura Dern, Emily Mortimer and Billy Crudup. This is a star cast!
There will also be a special retro screening series The only thrill. This special event celebrates Texas film history while honoring the memory of Diane Keaton.
Speaking of star-studded casts, other projects screening at the festival star well-known actors such as Zoey Deutch, Ron Perlman, Esai Morales, Jonathan Lipnicki, Adrianne Palicki, Henry Thomas, Ethan Hawke, Steve Zahn and more. Some of these actors will even be in attendance!
