The most powerful sedan you can buy today for under $60,000

We’re almost at the end of 2025 and the muscle sedan doesn’t want to die, thanks to Dodge. The 2026 Charger Scat Pack, powered by the 550 horsepower SIXPACK twin-turbocharged inline-six, starts at $56,995 and is officially the most powerful sedan you can buy for under $60,000.

We reported back in May that the Hurricane 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six would arrive in the second half of 2025. Dodge delivered right on schedule. This powerful “SIXPACK HO” engine is part of the new Hurricane family and replaces the long-standing legendary HEMI. As mentioned, it makes 550 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque, hits 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, has a top speed of 177 mph, and covers a quarter mile in 12.2 seconds. All versions have all-wheel drive and a rear-wheel drive mode, so you can illuminate the rear wheels as you wish.

When you get in, you’ll find premium leather and suede seats, carbon fiber and suede upholstery, and a huge 12.3-inch Uconnect touchscreen dominating the dashboard. Launch control, line lock, dual-mode active exhaust and Brembo brakes are standard equipment and are real tools for anyone who actually rides hard, not just specs for a brochure.

What makes this even more interesting is the way it fits into the broader Charger lineup. At Dodge you now have the choice between gas and electric power. On the gas side, there’s the 420-hp R/T starting at $49,995, the 550-hp two-door Scat Pack at $54,995, and now this four-door version at $56,995. If you want to go all-electric, the 670-hp Daytona Scat Pack is at the top of the price range at $59,995. Each of these courses includes a day of driving lessons at the Radford Racing School.

This launch also comes at a time when Stellantis is gaining ground in the United States. Under new CEO Antonio Filosa and with Tim Kuniskis, who shaped Dodge’s modern muscle era and still sets the direction, the group is running at full speed. SRT has returned to NASCAR and is reviving the legacy of the HEMI V8. Mopar fans thought it was over for good. Stellantis recently committed $13 billion to U.S. production. The new Charger range is a direct product of the Group’s renewed direction.

The four-door Charger also reaches a segment that is almost extinct. Conventional high-performance sedans are either too expensive, have chosen the hybrid route or are fully electric. But the Charger Scat Pack also far exceeds anything in its price range and performance. The BMW M340i with 382 horsepower starts at around $60,000. The Cadillac CT5-V produces 360 horsepower and costs around $52,000. To truly find comparable performance, you’d have to step up to cars like the Audi S6 or Mercedes-AMG E53, both of which are well within the $75,000 to $90,000 price range. At 550 horsepower, the Charger comes closest in performance to a base BMW M3 or a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, but those start at around $76,000 and $99,000, respectively.

Production will begin early next year, with deliveries expected in the first quarter of 2026. For less than $60,000, there’s nothing on the market that offers this much horsepower, all-wheel drive, and muscle car heritage.
