SXSW is fast approaching and some big things have already been announced. From marquee films to celebrity speakers to rockin’ events, here’s what we’re most excited about!
The most exciting things happening at SXSW 2026
Drew Brees
The Super Bowl MVP winner and Austin native will discuss flag football and the sport’s upcoming debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Brene Brown
The author and wearer of many hats will take part in the Vox Media Podcast Stage program.
Brian
A snarky high school student prone to panic attacks runs for class president to get closer to the teacher he’s hopelessly in love with. The film is packed with stars including Ben Wang, William H. Macy, Edi Patterson, Randall Park, Natalie Morales and more.
Family film
Directed and produced by Kyra Sedgwick And Kevin Bacontogether with their children Bacon sauce And Travis Bacon We will definitely see some celebrities at this premiere. The cast includes all Bacons as well as the Austin native, Austin Amelio.
I love boosters
The Boots Riley movie celebrates its world premiere on the opening evening of the festival. It plays the main role Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, Poppy Liu, Eiza González, LaKeith Stanfield, Will Poulter And Demi Moore.
Margo has money problems
The David E Kelly The series will also be shown on the opening night of the festival. Certainly some of the star-studded cast will be in attendance, including Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman, Nicole Kidman, Greg Kinnear And Marcia Gay Harden.
Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice
Another world premiere taking place at the festival, this hilarious, stylized, R-rated action comedy stars Vince Vaughn, James Marsden and more.
Over your dead body
A dysfunctional couple sets off to a remote cabin to supposedly reconnect, but each has secret plans to kill the other. The cast includes Samara Weaving, Jason Segel, Timothy Olyphant And Juliette Lewis.
Ready or not 2: Here I come
The sequel to the 2019 film is celebrating its world premiere, hopefully with some of the cast in attendance. This includes Samara Weaving, Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar And Elijah Wood.
Driver strong
The podcaster and actor, perhaps best known for his role in Boy meets worldwill take part in a round table on acting with other participants Alexandra Barreto And Alyssa Rodríguez.
Seeker of Infinite Love
After learning that their youngest sister has joined a traveling cult, three estranged siblings must come together to find her and bring her back. The cast includes Hannah Einbinder, Justin Theroux, Griffin Gluck, Justine Lupe And Greg Kinnear.
Sips & Sounds Music Festival
Coca-Cola’s Sips & Sounds Music Festival will take place during SXSW 2026. Headliners include: Christina Aguilera And Calvin Harrisalong with other big acts like Major Lazer Soundsystem, Foster the People, GROUPLOVE and more.
The sun never sets
Dakota Fanning, Jake Johnson, Debby Ryan and more star in this narrative spotlight film making its world premiere.
They will kill you
This film is a fast-paced horror-action comedy and features a cast that is no stranger to SXSW. star Zazie Beetz spoke to us on the red carpet in 2025. The film stars Myha’La, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham And Patricia Arquette.
