Price and specifications of the Polestar 2 2026

The Polestar 2 The electric liftback has received a slight refresh for 2026, bringing with it minor technical improvements, a new battery and a bit more range at the lower end of the range.

The base Polestar 2 “Standard Range Single Motor” now features a slightly larger nickel-manganese-cobalt lithium-ion battery (NMC) from Chinese manufacturer CATL, replacing an NMC unit from LG Chem. While the range only increased by 8 km, the fast charging speed was increased from 135 kW to 180 kW.

All variants now have a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which is intended to shorten loading times and improve response times when inputting the infotainment system.

At the top is the “Long Range Dual Motor Performance”, which, in addition to the standard equipment with the otherwise optional Performance package, now also includes the optional Plus package. The price has been increased accordingly, with Polestar indicating that the change reflects customer preferences.

Otherwise, prices have remained the same across the range, while there’s a new sand metallic finish called ‘Dune’ in place of the old ‘Jupiter’ color. The static pricing for most of the range follows price cuts of $5,000 announced last September for 2025 vehicles.

Tinting is also available for the rear side windows, while a new 20-inch forged alloy wheel design has been added to the Performance package. Inside, there’s new “biologically attributed” MicroTech quilted upholstery in anthracite, while black ash inserts are available in the Plus package.

This option package again includes a 600W 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, which was missing for 2025. A new option is a 1350W, 14-speaker Bowers and Wilkins sound system that costs $3,500 and can only be ordered with the Plus package.

Despite lower prices, the Chinese-owned Swedish brand delivered 746 Polestar 2s in Australia in 2025, down 48.9 percent from 2024, although Polestar Australia overall saw a 38.5 percent increase year-on-year.

It was surpassed by the Tesla Model 3 (6617). the BYD Seal (3784) and the BMW i4 (886), although it beat the Hyundai Ioniq 6 (200).
