The new fully electric SUV from Porsche receives new performance equipment.
The suffix GTS stands for “Gran Turismo Sport” and has been an important part of Porsche history for over 60 years since the introduction of the 904 Carrera GTS in 1963. Today the three letters are used to identify Porsche models with convincing performance and a sporty touch. Models like the 911, Macan, Cayenne, 718 and Taycan have all featured GTS variants, and now the Porsche Macan Electric joins the group as a new GTS variant of Porsche’s all-electric SUV joins the lineup as the fifth model in the lineup for the 2026 model year.
It has an overboost output of up to 563 hp and is also characterized by a locking rear differential and air suspension with a decidedly sporty setting. Designed with optimal cornering precision and agility in mind, the new 2026 Porsche Macan Electric GTS also features the traditional GTS treatment visually: black accents throughout as well as sporty styling treatments.
The new Macan Electric GTS accelerates from 0 to 60 in just 3.6 seconds, covers a quarter mile in 12 seconds and has a limited top speed of 155 miles per hour. It shares a rear electric motor with the powerful Macan Electric Turbo, meaning the electric SUV can regularly produce 509 hp, with up to 563 hp in overboost. The Sport Chrono package is standard on the new Macan Electric GTS, with Track Endurance Mode introduced on the Taycan, which optimizes the battery for longer performance journeys.
The suspension is tuned specifically for the GTS, with a low center of gravity and the standard Porsche Torque Vectoring System mounted behind the rear engine to contribute to a slightly rear-biased weight distribution (48/52). The optional rear-axle steering also contributes to the incredible handling. Three new colors will be available for the GTS: Chalk, Carmine Red and Lugano Blue. The standard interior is upholstered in Race-Tex and black leather throughout, with contrast stitching and accents that coordinate with some of the available exterior colors.
Priced at $103,000, the new 2026 Porsche Macan Electric GTS is available to order now, and the first examples of the new high-performance electric SUV are expected to arrive at Porsche centers in the United States in spring 2026. With a long and distinguished history, the name and spirit of the GTS finally finds its way into Porsche’s new electric SUV.
