The GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), Tank 300 HEV (hybrid electric vehicle), Tank 500 HEV And Tank 500 PHEV have been recalled due to a possible wiring fault that could cause driving problems.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the shield ring in the high voltage wiring harness may not be properly grounded,” the recall notice states.
“This can reduce the effectiveness of the electromagnetic shielding, which can result in abnormal communication with the engine and transmission control systems.
“As a result, warning lights may illuminate, vehicle torque may be reduced, and hybrid system cooling performance may be impaired.

“Decreased vehicle performance and cooling capacity could increase the risk of accidents and lead to serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

Great Wall Motors (GWM) Australia will contact the owners of the affected vehicles as soon as possible to arrange an appointment.
Work to resolve the problem will be carried out free of charge by an authorized GWM dealer.
