AI is becoming intelligent in all the wrong ways

This doesn’t mean that AI is intentionally ignoring humans. It just doesn’t think like we do. AI has NO emotions or true understanding of intent. It is designed to complete tasks as efficiently as possible.

For this reason, abbreviations are sometimes necessary. If it believes there is a quicker path to the result, it may choose that path, even if it means disregarding or disobeying the rules you have set. The real risk is not that AI suddenly turns against humans. It’s much easier. It’s that we start to trust it a little too much without thinking about it. When something sounds confident and polished, it’s easy to believe it’s right. Most of us don’t stop to question it.

Today’s AI feels more like the cocky colleague we’ve all had to deal with. The person who says “It’s done” before the actual review skips a few steps to save time and sometimes gives you an answer that sounds perfect until you look a little closer. And that’s really the point. It’s not about messing things up. But things don’t always go right. Sometimes it causes misunderstandings, sometimes it fills in the gaps on its own, and sometimes it just takes a shortcut without telling you. So the bottom line is simple: use AI, enjoy how helpful it can be, but don’t trust it blindly. Use a little of your own judgment. Because ultimately it is a tool, not the final word. And the moment you forget that, you’re most likely to stumble over it.
