Full pricing and specifications have been announced for 2026 KGM Musso EVwhich sets a new price benchmark for a fully electric submarine in Australia at just $60,000 for private buyers.
That’s significantly less than the only electric SUV currently available here – the LDV eT60 dual-cab, rear-wheel drive, priced at $92,990 (excluding on-road costs).
However, the eT60 will soon be replaced by the all-new eTerron 9, which will likely be more affordable, and there will be a number of other new electric vehicles coming to this market soon, including the Toyota HiLux BEV in 2026 and the Isuzu D-Max EV.

Prices
Three variants of the all-electric dual-cab model will be available, including the entry-level front-wheel-drive Musso EV of the same name, the better-equipped Black Edge for just $2,000 extra, and the top-of-the-line Musso EV AWD for an additional $2,000.
| Model | One-way fare |
|---|---|
| 2026 KGM Musso EV | $60,000 |
| 2026 KGM Musso EV Black Edge | $62,000 |
| 2026 KGM Musso EV AWD | $64,000 |
For reference, the flagship diesel-powered KGM Musso XLV Ultimate 4×4 crew cab costs $53,000 alone.
The vehicles will be available at select KGM dealers later this month, ahead of the official launch on December 1st.
Drives and efficiency
Unlike KGM’s existing Musso range, which rides on a ladder frame chassis, the Musso EV is based on a monocoque chassis like the Korean automaker’s Actyon and Torres mid-size SUVs.
As we outlined in September, the Musso EV is offered here with a choice of single-motor front-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive, both with an 80.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.
The range is now 420 km (WLTP) for 2WD variants and 380 km (WLTP) for AWD variants. For reference, the LDV eTerron 9 – which has already been confirmed for our market but whose local timing has yet to be determined – has a WLTP range of up to 430 km.

| Maximum power – front engine / rear engine | 152kW / – | 152kW / 152kW |
| Maximum Torque – Front Engine / Rear Engine | 339 Nm/- | 339Nm / 339Nm |

| Electric range (WLTP) | 420km | 380km |
| Energy consumption (combined, WLTP) | 23 kWh/100 km | 26 kWh/100 km |
The front-wheel drive versions of the Musso EV produce a combined power of 152kW and 339Nm of torque, while the AWD flagship has a rear-mounted electric motor producing 175kW and 630Nm.
While the LDV eT60 with body only produces 130kW, the eTerron 9 is offered abroad with a choice of 200kW single-motor rear-wheel drive and 325kW dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations.
The Musso EV’s battery can be fast-charged using DC current at up to 300 kW, with a 20 to 80 percent recharge possible in a claimed 31 minutes. A 10-80 percent charge takes about 46 minutes with a 100 kW charger and 36 minutes with a 300 kW charger.
A 0-100 percent charge on an 11kW AC charger takes about 10 hours and 20 minutes.
The integrated Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function enables external power supply for camping equipment, tools or outdoor devices.
Regenerative braking can be adjusted to three levels using paddles mounted on the steering wheel.
Dimensions
The Musso EV is 5160 mm long, 1920 mm wide and 1750 mm high with a wheelbase of 3150 mm. This makes it 190 mm shorter than the Ford Ranger PHEV with a 120 mm shorter wheelbase.

| Unbraked towing capacity | 750kg |
| Braked towing capacity | 1800kg |
| Download max trailer hitch | 180kg |
Unlike most crew cabs, the Musso EV’s rear suspension is a multi-link with self-leveling shock absorbers, rather than a more robust solid-axle leaf spring arrangement at the rear.
As such, braked towing capacity is limited to 1,800kg (most diesel dual cabs can tow up to 3,500kg), which is still more than the eT60’s 1,000kg, and payload is a more competitive 905kg for the 2WD versions and 805kg for the AWD variant.
That’s competitive with plug-in hybrid vehicles like the Ford Ranger (808-973kg), BYD Shark 6 (790kg) and GWM Cannon Alpha (685kg), but the Musso EV doesn’t have the necessary ground clearance, which is just 181mm.
According to KGM, the Musso EV offers similar interior space in the second row as a mid-size SUV as well as 1002 mm of headroom. The rear seat is 60/40 split and folding, heated in the outboard positions and has an 80mm slide range and 32 degree recline angle.
The Musso EV is said to share its tub dimensions with the diesel Musso, with a tray with eight cargo securing hooks, a molded tub liner that extends over the top edges, and lighting.

The Musso EV is covered by KGM Australia’s seven-year, unlimited mileage new vehicle warranty and the high voltage battery is covered by a ten-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
