But after years of making outdoor adventure such a big part of my life and identity, I worried that “settling down” would actually become…settling down. As a homeowner, would I still enjoy outdoor adventures or would I just be a boring house dweller?!

Now, when I wash the red dirt under my fingernails after an epic desert trip, it smells like I’m right back in the Grand Canyon—or Mount Rainier, Acadia, or Sequoia. There’s even a scent inspired by Dry Tortugas, the only one of the five parks that I haven’t been to. (And if it smells even half as good as the soap, I have to go!)
