The Tesla Model Y has undergone some minor changes for 2026, but prices remain unchanged.
The base RWD and mid-range long-range AWD variants of the popular mid-size electric SUV – Australia’s best-selling electric vehicle (EV) – upgrade from a 15.4-inch infotainment touchscreen to the 16.0-inch unit on the top performance flagship.
They also now get a black headliner, replacing the previous light gray color. It’s standard regardless of whether you choose the black or white upholstery option.
Otherwise, there are no changes to the Model Y and the performance – which, like the other variants, comes from Germany and not China – remains with a light headliner.

The range still starts at $58,900 before on-road costs for the RWD and rises to $68,900 before on-road costs for the Long Range AWD and $89,400 for the Performance.
Tesla brought the heavily revised “Juniper” Model Y onto the market in early 2025, followed a few months later by the improved performance flagship.
The updated model range helped boost sales by 4.6 per cent last year, enough to make the Model Y Australia’s best-selling electric vehicle last year. A total of 22,239 units were delivered last year, significantly more than the runner-up (and competitor) BYD Sealion 7 with 13,410 deliveries.
Not content with just the facelift, Tesla launched its fully self-driving (monitored) autonomous driving system later in 2025 and then introduced a new five-year, unlimited mileage warranty earlier this month.
