Amazfit expands its Active line with the Amazfit Active Max, a sporty smartwatch powered by BioCharge, a real-time energy and readiness score. The company says the score changes throughout the day as your workouts, activity levels, and stress levels change, with the goal of making it easier to decide when to exert yourself and when to rest.
This willingness goes hand in hand with a long battery life. Amazfit offers up to 25 days of charging time in a lightweight design and supports all-day activity and sleep tracking. Active Max is priced at $169 and is available now on Amazfit.com. A function will come later, podcast playback should be available via a software update in February 2026. The Active Max is the Plus version of the Active 2, which will be released in early 2025.
BioCharge aims to make recovery clearer
BioCharge is the main reason Active Max exists. Amazfit says it updates based on workouts, overall activity, and stress, and converts those signals into a score you can view before a hard workout session.
It also ties into a broader set of health metrics. Using the BioTracker PPG sensor, Active Max continuously monitors heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and sleep quality and can alert you to unusually high or low readings. The watch can be paired with the Zepp app for deeper insights and longer-term trends. Large screen and storage space support the playing field
The rest of the datasheet is structured to make this data easily visible and easy to use. Amazfit says the 1.5-inch AMOLED display can reach peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits, which should be helpful outdoors if you’re trying to read live stats.
Active Max also includes 4GB of built-in storage, rated for up to 100 hours of podcast playback, as well as free downloadable outdoor maps, including more than 2,000 ski resorts with contour details.
What matters most at the checkout
If audio is a primary reason for your purchase, keep in mind that the podcast feature isn’t expected until February 2026. For training, Active Max supports more than 170 sports modes and Zepp Coach guidance, and its strength training mode can recognize reps, sets and rest periods on 25 exercises.
If your priority is a watch that allows for better recovery decisions and doesn’t require constant charging, Active Max is for you. If podcasts are the deciding factor, make sure the update is live before committing.
