Ahead of CES 2026, South Korean tech giant Samsung has released what it claims is the “industry’s first 6K 3D monitor without glasses.” The 32-inch monitor features an IPS panel, supports a peak refresh rate of 165 Hz and has HDMI 2.1 and DP 2.1 ports, but its main highlight is glasses-free 3D playback.
Unlike traditional 3D displays that require bulky glasses (and quite a bit of patience), Samsung’s 6K 3D Odyssey G9 (G90XH) uses an advanced lenticular lens system paired with eye-tracking cameras to determine the direction of your gaze and adjust the perspective for each eye, creating the illusion of depth, resulting in a 3D look.
Where 3D Without Glasses Finally Makes Sense (and Who It’s Really For)
Samsung’s press release also mentions that PC gamers will be able to enjoy 3D effects “developed in collaboration with game studios.” Title like The First Berserker: Khazan, Lies of P: OvertureAnd Starblade “provide additional dimensionality that improves terrain, distance and object separation” beyond 2D gameplay.
For years, 3D displays have lived in the “cool demo, unpleasant reality” category. Although they were a cool party trick, they were never practical enough to be part of our daily lives. However, the 6K 3D Odyssey G9 (G90XH) changes that conversation.
In addition to the added depth without the need for bulky glasses, the monitor also offers an ultra-fast 165Hz refresh rate (up to 330Hz in dual mode) and a gray-to-gray response time of 1ms, making it the ideal choice for gamers, developers or creatives who want a high-quality, ultra-responsive monitor.
In addition to gamers and developers, I think the new 3D monitor could also appeal to designers, architects and 3D modelers who can use depth perception to better visualize designs or renderings. For others, the monitor could help with watching 3D movies and other compatible content.
Samsung hasn’t announced the release date or price of the 6K 3D Odyssey G9 (G90XH), which usually means “expensive and not tomorrow.” However, like previous Odyssey releases, the company could start with limited availability and gradually expand the product launch to additional markets.
However, we do know that the company will unveil the entire Odyssey 2026 lineup at CES 2026. Other companies like Lenovo are also preparing for the tech conference with interesting products, such as a cool laptop with a hidden display under the lid or a self-charging keyboard.
