The first clear images of it Volvo EX60 Electric SUVs have been released online just days after their official unveiling, with exhibition release in Australia scheduled for mid-2026.
Solid car has released two images of the EX60 that appear to be screenshots from a video presentation of the Tesla Model Y, BMW iX3 and Mercedes GLC electric SUVs with EQ technology.
They feature a distinctive Volvo front end, including the “Thor’s Hammer” headlight LEDs that former design chief Thomas Ingenlath introduced on the 2014 XC90 SUV.
The former Polestar CEO will return as Volvo chief designer on February 1, 2026.

The images show on-screen captions that read, “It’s written in black and white,” as the vehicle’s front bumper appears to explain.
The Swedish brand has so far only shown a preview of the EX60’s interior, announcing battery specifications and a claimed range of 810km on the WLTP cycle.
The range of 810 km makes the EX60 the electric vehicle with the longest range between charges, exceeding the BMW iX3’s claimed 805 km. Both will displace the Tesla Model 3 Long Range from the top spot in Australia.
The Model 3 Long Range was launched in mid-2025 with a WLTP range of 750 km on the entry-level standard 18-inch alloy wheels, surpassing the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor with 706 km WLTP.
The EX60 will use the brand’s new SPA3 architecture, which will form the basis for the next generation of electric vehicles (EVs), offering faster processing speeds for infotainment, driver assistance and autonomous functions.
Volvo Australia will also bring an updated EX90 large SUV to showrooms in 2026 with an 800-volt electric architecture as the company continues to bring electric vehicles to market, although the company has revised its previous commitment to only sell electric vehicles in Australia from 2026.
