Amazfit has introduced the T-Rex Ultra 2, its latest robust smartwatch for outdoor enthusiasts and adventure athletes. The new model builds on the company’s T-Rex range and features a larger design, improved materials and expanded mapping capabilities.
The T-Rex Ultra 2 features a 51mm body and a 1.5-inch AMOLED display protected by sapphire crystal. The watch features a grade 5 titanium bezel and back and has a water resistance of 10 ATM, making it suitable for activities under high water pressure, including diving. Amazfit is positioning the smartwatch as one of its most durable wearables to date, able to withstand the elements with ease.
Navigation and route planning upgrades
Navigation is the focus of the Ultra 2. The smartwatch supports full-color offline maps, route import and planning, turn-by-turn navigation and elevation data. Users can preload global maps directly onto the device and create routes of up to 100km without relying on a connected smartphone.
The watch supports six satellite positioning systems for improved accuracy and faster signal acquisition. It even includes a smart checkpoint display and reminder alarms so users can mark waypoints such as water sources, shelters, high-altitude destinations or turning points during long hikes or multi-day trips. Additionally, improved climb segmentation and refined terrain mapping provide clearer insights into upcoming climbs.
Best-in-class battery life
Battery life remains a key feature of the new T-Rex model: Amazfit claims typical smartwatch usage of up to 30 days on a single charge and up to 50 hours of GPS tracking, numbers that stand out in a segment that includes more premium devices like the Apple Watch Ultra 3. The watch also has 64GB of internal storage for maps, workout data and music, as well as a built-in speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calls.
Other features include incline-adjusted pace for mountain training, voice note recording during exercise, dual-mode flashlight with boost mode for intense lighting, and SOS signal for emergencies.
The Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 costs $549.99 and is already available via Amazfit’s website. Availability on Amazon is expected in the coming days.
