R.A.M., jeep And Chrysler Owners in the United States are frustrated after ads for their vehicles appear on their touchscreens.
Social media posts reported by The Autopianerhave shown that advertisements suddenly appeared on the center touchscreen of several Jeep, Ram and Chrysler vehicles, causing surprise and irritation among owners.
All three brands are part of Stellantis and use the company’s Uconnect infotainment system – the same system offered in Jeep, Ram and Alfa Romeo vehicles sold in Australia, although the issue is not yet addressed here.
The ads appeared while owners were using features on the touchscreen that are not normally accessible via physical buttons, forcing owners to take a break to remove the offending message.
To make matters worse, the ads were not only activated by the Stellantis system, but also came from the car manufacturer itself – and a call to customer service was the only way to stop them.

Accordingly AutoblogX-user on social media platform GMN Ape (@AGMNApe) posted an image of the ad, which offers a $1,500 ($2,299) “retail bonus” for purchasing the brand’s vehicles.
When The Autopianer Reached out to Stellantis, Stellantis told the outlet that the ads were only served to targeted owners – not all owners – and that they were designed to “minimize any intrusion.”
It explained that the “In-Vehicle Message” (IVM) is used to alert owners to “important messages such as exclusive sales offers, vehicle recalls and vehicle health monitoring alerts.”
Stellantis told The Autopianer The indicators only appear when the vehicle is started and disappear when the vehicle starts moving or the owner clicks the “OK” or “X” on-screen buttons on the display.
The display will not appear again until the driver clicks the touchscreen “Remind me later” button.
This is not the first time that Stellantis has sent an ad through its Uconnect system. In February 2025, there were complaints from owners who said they could not remove the offending material from their vehicles.
Stellantis said it was a bug and was working to fix the issue.
Back in 2021, Ford patented in-car advertising for its vehicles, in which a front-mounted camera transmits external advertising – such as on a passing billboard – to the car’s internal screen.
In 2024, Ford patented – again – technology to listen in on in-car conversations and deliver targeted advertising to occupants based on that, also tailored to physical location, such as a shopping center parking lot.
Ford Australia said at the time it had no plans to introduce either technology in its vehicles here.
