MG offers deals on almost its entire model range, but it is this MG4 Electric hatchback that gets the biggest discounts.
The Chinese brand’s summer savings promotion, which ends on January 31, 2026, includes discounts of $2,000 on HS Hybrid+ and Super Hybrid midsize SUVs, and between $500 and $1,000 on certain variants of the MG 3 hatchback, small ZS SUV, HS and large QS SUV.
However, the MG 4 is offered for $4,000 less than the recommended drive-away price in the top-spec XPower trim, which receives a $5,000 discount.
The discounted price is available on all model year 2024 and 2025 (MY24 and MY25) vehicles, but does not apply to demonstrator vehicles and fleet, government and rental agency buyers.

The significant discounts come as sales of the MG 4 fell 56.9 percent last year, the sharpest decline of any MG model.
This slump, combined with declines in sales of other core MG products such as the MG 3, HS and ZS, resulted in MG recording an overall decline of 18.4 percent in 2025, despite a number of new models hitting showrooms.
Prices for the MG 4 have fluctuated since its local launch in 2023.
This year the range started at $38,990 before on-road costs, but in September and October 2024 MG offered the base Excite 51 from just $30,990.
This offer, along with other offers, resulted in MG 4 sales increasing by 97.9 percent compared to the previous year. The base price was increased to $32,990 for the car later in the year.
MG introduced a nationwide drive-away offer on the base model Excite 51 late last year, but at $37,990 it was still significantly more expensive than a year earlier.
The company confirmed last year that it would phase out the 51kWh and 77kWh battery options in 2026 to make way for the new front-wheel drive MG 4 Urban.
The softer-designed MG 4 Urban will be available with either 43kWh or 54kWh batteries and a single 120kW/250Nm single-motor electric powertrain.
Peter Ciao, former CEO of MG Motor Australia, revealed that the MG 4 Urban will be launched here in the second quarter (April to June) of 2026.
The rear/all-wheel drive MG 4 gets an update overseas, bringing with it a revised interior similar to that of the related MG S5 EV electric SUV. MG has not yet announced the local launch date for this model.
When MG Motor Australia announced a leadership change earlier this month, it confirmed it would announce an updated strategy for its “next phase of growth” “in due course”.
