The Lexus LX700h It is recommended to reach the Australian showrooms upon arrival Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series Hybrid in Australia in early 2026.
“We’ve looked at this and don’t have anything to confirm at the moment, but we may need to confirm things in the future,” Lexus Australia CEO John Pappas said Daily Sparkz.
If it had landed here, it would join the extensive range of hybrid-powered Lexus models. Of the 11 nameplates Lexus offers in Australia, only the LX, GX and electric RZ lack a hybrid variant.
Australian Lexus showrooms offer the LX in both diesel (LX500d) and petrol (LX600) versions.

The LX700h is currently sold in the United States and the United Arab Emirates and, like the rest of the LX range, shares its underpinnings with the Toyota LandCruiser 300 series.
In September, Toyota Australia confirmed that the LandCruiser Hybrid, the most expensive LandCruiser to date, would be available in top-spec GR Sport and Sahara ZX trims from early 2026.
The hybrid version of Lexus will also be the top of the range in terms of price and performance.
The LX700h sold in overseas showrooms is essentially a hybrid version of the petrol-powered LX600, which sells here at a base price of $179,800 before on-road costs. The LX700h would therefore be above that.
In the USA, the LX700h is offered in four model levels: the off-road-oriented Overtrail, the F Sport Handling, the Luxury and the Ultra Luxury.
The LX700h uses the same “performance hybrid” powertrain as the LandCruiser Hybrid, which is already used in the full-size Toyota Tundra pickup in Australian showrooms.
The overseas market LX700h SUVs feature a 336kW/790Nm 3.4-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time all-wheel drive.
Like the LandCruiser Hybrid, the LX700h can use the gasoline engine or the electric motor to drive its wheels.
Looking at the US market model, combined cycle fuel consumption is 11.76 l/100 km, the 0-97 km/h sprint is completed in 6.4 seconds and the braking towing capacity is 3,629 kg.
All have seven seats, except the Ultra Luxury, which has four. The LandCruiser Hybrid for the Australian market, on the other hand, is only offered with five seats.
The entry-level Overtrail features 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires – while the rest of the range has 22-inch alloys – as well as front skid plates and “active height control”.
All trim levels are equipped with electronic differential locks front, center and rear, with the LX700h F Sport equipped with a Torsen limited-slip differential (LSD), which also features a sports suspension with sports dampers and a rear anti-roll bar.
A 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard across the range, with Luxury versions featuring a Mark Levinson sound system and Ultra Luxury versions adding rear-seat entertainment and four captain’s chairs with massage function.
Australian sales of the LX500 and LX600 are up 25.1 per cent year-to-date, with overall Lexus brand sales up 11.3 per cent – with the LX700h representing an additional increase over the current sales rate.
