A 2027 Nissan Patrol Pro-4X has been spotted testing on the streets of Melbourne, some 12 months ahead of its expected launch date in Australia.
Although the badges are obscured, the left-hand drive Y63 generation Patrol clearly bears the Pro-4X’s unique grille and front skid plate armor – with a central silver skid plate mounted to a black plate in the lower part of the front bumper.
Designed for off-road use, the Patrol Pro-4X has a ground clearance of up to 244mm – with the air suspension set to the highest setting – with a departure angle of 33 degrees, a departure angle of 24.5 degrees and a breakover angle of 25.5 degrees.
It also comes with 20-inch black alloy wheels, 275/60R20 off-road tires and an electronic rear differential lock.

The new Patrol is powered by a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine producing 317kW and 700Nm, driving all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.
While the Pro-4X is expected to be part of the Patrol range, Nissan says the model range will be officially announced closer to its Australian launch.
A company spokesperson confirmed that the Patrol Pro-4X belonged to Nissan Daily Sparkz “All future vehicles for the Australian market, including the Y63 Patrol, will be tested and tuned for Australian conditions before their domestic launch.”
It is believed that the new-generation Patrol Warrior – a hardcore off-road version developed locally by Premcar and sold through Nissan dealers – will likely be based on the Pro-4X.
Compared to the current V8-powered Patrol, Nissan says the upcoming model is 35mm longer and wider and features a ladder frame chassis with 25 percent higher torsional rigidity and 57 percent higher lateral stiffness.
The 2027 Nissan Patrol is expected to go on sale in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2026.
