Mercedes AMG has increased the volume – and value – of its midsize performance SUV lineup by adding performance features and a variety of carbon fiber design elements to the popular GLC43 for less money.
The new one can be ordered from today (November 6th). GLC43 4Matic Carbon Edition The SUV costs $133,100 (excluding on-road costs) and the coupe costs $145,800 (excluding on-road costs).
Unusually, despite the additional design and performance features, this represents a saving of $3,800 and $1,700 respectively over the standard GLC43 SUV and coupe, which normally cost $136,900 and $147,500 plus on-roads respectively.

In order to place an even greater focus on driving dynamics and motorsport-inspired design, the Carbon Edition features the AMG Dynamic Plus package for the first time in the GLC, including dynamic engine mounts and a special race driving mode.
Power continues to come from AMG’s 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, producing 310kW of power and 500Nm of torque, enabling 0-100km/h acceleration in 4.5 seconds.
The GLC43 uses the AMG Speedshift MCT 9G nine-speed automatic transmission and features AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension damping and rear-axle steering.
In the interior, the Carbon Edition features trim elements made of real carbon and a new AMG performance steering wheel with carbon fiber and microcut microfiber finish – another first for the GLC43.
The center console has a black fine structure, while the AMG Performance front seats are covered with Artico synthetic leather and Microcut microfiber.
Externally, the Night Package II features darkened radiator grille elements and dark chrome emblems, paired with 21-inch AMG Y-spoke light-alloy wheels in matt black with a highly polished rim flange and red brake calipers.
Standard equipment also includes the AMG Dynamic Select driving modes, heated and electrically adjustable front seats with memory, a panoramic sunroof, a Burmester 3D surround sound system and MBUX infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In addition, a full range of driver assistance features are standard, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and blind spot monitoring.
