Shubham Jaglan and Yuvraj Sandhu are going head-to-head ahead of the final round of the TATA Open 2025

Jamshedpur: Shubham Jaglan and Yuvraj Sandhu were neck-and-neck ahead of the final round of the TATA Open 2025, an INR 2 crore event and season finale of the PGTI, held at Beldih and Golmuri golf courses in Jamshedpur.

21-year-old Shubham Jaglan (68-66-65), who turned pro earlier this year and is contesting only his third event in the PGTI, shot a classy, flawless score of six-under 65 on day three to move one place into the joint lead at 14-under 199. Shubham from Gurugram, who finished second on his PGTI debut in Chandigarh last month, is now looking for his first title on the tour.

Yuvraj Sandhu (67-64-68), who led by three shots at the halfway point, shot a three-under 68 in the third round and ended the day tied for the lead at 14-under 199. Chandigarh-based Yuvraj, a six-time winner of the PGTI this year, has already won the 2025 PGTI Order of Merit crown, securing his place on the DP World Tour for next year. Sandhu is now aiming for a record seventh PGTI title in a single season.

There is daylight between the top two and the rest of the field as the trio of Veer Ahlawat (65), Khalin Joshi (68) and N Thangaraja (68) sit in third place at nine under 204, five shots behind the joint leader.

In rounds one and two, half of the field played their 18 holes at Beldih Golf Club, while the other half of the field played their 18 holes at Golmuri Golf Club. In rounds three and four, the leading groups play their front nine in Golmuri before moving to Beldih to play their back nine. The par for Golmuri and Beldih together is 71.

Shubham Jaglan, who finished second overnight, three shots off the lead, had a successful first nine throw where he made three birdies and an eagle thanks to two seven-foot conversions and two 15-foot conversions. On the back nine, Shubham birdied the 12thTh but he also made two great par saves, including a 25-footer that kept his momentum going.

Shubham said: “I played really well on my front nine at Golmuri, but the 30 minute drive from there to Beldih kind of slowed things down for me as I had never experienced playing a round over two venues so far apart before. However, a couple of great par saves at Beldih gave me a lot of confidence and helped me get back into the swing of things. I played in the lead group at a PGTI event for the first time today. Im Be in the spotlight and be there.” Having so many people cheering you on brings its own pressure, but I feel like I handled that pressure well today.”

Yuvraj Sandhu scored five birdies against two bogeys on Saturday to remain at the top of the leaderboard.

Yuvraj said: “Today I had a good start in Golmuri but in Beldih I had a few three-putts. However, after the course I am very motivated to do well in the final round as it will be the last round of competition in 2025 so I want to give my best.”

Manoj S made a hole-in-one on the 17thTh during his third round of 67. Manoj ended the third day in sixth place at eight-under 205, along with Mohd Azhar and Amardeep Malik.

Kurush Heerjee, the only Jamshedpur-based professional to make it, finished in 51st placest with seven over 220.
