The Ram 2500 And 3500 Pickup trucks have been recalled because key safety features may not work.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) module may disable the electronic stability control (ESC). In this case, the ESC may fail without warning, resulting in loss of control of the vehicle,” said the recall notice from American Special Vehicles, a partnership between importer Ateco Automotive and Walkinshaw Group, which remanufactures right-hand drive Ram vehicles.
“This can also result in the seatbelt pretensioners and airbags not functioning as intended in the event of an accident.”
“Loss of vehicle control and/or airbags and seatbelt pretensioners not deploying as intended in an accident could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”
