Quick: This Hisense TV just went from “good value” to “must buy”.

One of the best things about covering Black Friday is that you can usually count on a few things, and an even cheaper Hisense TV is usually one of them – and here it is.

This TV got rave reviews when it was $1,000 (for the 55-inch version), but now it’s down to just $697, that’s almost a given.

Hisense has done a good job of putting together quality TVs, and that’s why I’ve bought one in the past – but now the flagship models are starting to pack a punch in their own right, even without the low price.

What sets this model apart even further is that it has a really powerful panel – in fact, many buyers have commented that it can actually get a bit too bright.

This is achieved through ULED technology – a competitor to OLED, but which uses thousands of small LEDs (a technology called MiniLED) to illuminate only the relevant parts of the screen, creating great contrast, bold colors and an overall strong image.

Is a bigger TV a better TV deal?

The real question is what size you would choose – I have a 65″ screen and I love the slightly oversized display for movie nights. However, you’ll pay $300 more to switch from 55 inches. So make sure you have the space (and budget) before you pull the trigger.

You can opt for built-in 4.1.2 surround sound with Dolby Atmos support and a built-in subwoofer – or you can pair it with a soundbar. The stand is big enough for you to sit in front of (and buyers have confirmed it’s good enough for things like the Sonos Beam).

While you may be like me and can’t imagine ever moving away from OLED screens, this does pique my interest a bit, especially given the new lower price.
